As part of Project Prakrati, Jansamvedna Foundation conducted a community clean-up drive at Ganga Ghat, Virbhadra, Rishikesh, on 13 September 2026. The initiative brought volunteers together to promote environmental responsibility and contribute towards cleaner public spaces along the banks of the Ganga.
Cleaning the Temple Area Along the Ganga
The four-hour clean-up drive focused on the temple area situated along the Ganga riverbank and its surrounding premises.
Four volunteers actively participated in the initiative from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, collecting litter and waste from the area. During the drive, the team collected and filled 15 extra-large garbage bags.
The activity aimed to improve the cleanliness of the surroundings while encouraging greater awareness about responsible waste disposal and the importance of maintaining clean community spaces.
Responsible Waste Disposal
Following the clean-up, the collected waste was handed over for proper disposal through the municipal garbage collection vehicle.
At Jansamvedna Foundation, we believe that responsible environmental action does not end with collecting waste. Ensuring that the collected garbage enters an appropriate waste-disposal system is an equally important part of maintaining cleaner surroundings.
Four Volunteers, One Shared Responsibility
The initiative demonstrated the importance of community participation in environmental protection.
Four volunteers dedicated four hours to cleaning the temple area and its surroundings, working together towards a common goal. Their contribution reflects the spirit of volunteerism and the role individuals can play in creating cleaner and more responsible communities.
