Disaster Relief & Emergency Response

Standing With Communities When They Need Us Most

When disaster strikes, life can change within hours. Homes can be damaged, livelihoods can disappear and families can suddenly lose access to food, clean water, healthcare and other basic necessities.

Project RAKSHAK is envisioned as Jansamvedna Foundation’s disaster-relief and emergency-response initiative, created to support vulnerable communities during times of floods, cyclones, fires, earthquakes and other emergencies.

Our approach focuses not only on immediate relief but also on helping affected families move towards recovery and rebuild their lives with dignity.

WHY PROJECT RAKSHAK?

During a disaster, the immediate needs are often urgent and basic—safe drinking water, food, medicines, hygiene supplies, temporary shelter and protection.

But the challenges do not end when the emergency situation improves.

Families may return to damaged homes, children may lose their school materials, people may lose their sources of income and healthcare needs may continue long after the relief camps close.

That is why Project Rakshak looks beyond immediate assistance and focuses on the journey from relief to recovery.
