WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Empowering Women. Strengthening Families. Building Stronger Communities.

When women have access to education, healthcare, skills and economic opportunities, the positive impact reaches far beyond one individual. At Jansamvedna Foundation, we work to support women and adolescent girls from underserved communities by creating opportunities that help them become more confident, informed and financially independent.

Our approach focuses on practical support, awareness, skill development and community participation so that women can take greater control of decisions affecting their health, family and future.

WHY WOMEN EMPOWERMENT MATTERS?

Women often face multiple barriers that can limit their access to education, healthcare, employment and financial resources. These challenges can affect not only their own lives but also the wellbeing and future opportunities of their families.

Empowerment begins when women have the knowledge, confidence and resources to make informed decisions. A woman who is financially independent, aware of her rights and able to access essential services can become a strong source of support for her family and community.

At Jansamvedna Foundation, we believe women should not simply receive support—they should have the opportunity to learn, participate, lead and become self-reliant.

STORIES OF CHANGE

Every woman has the potential to create change when she gets access to the right support, skills and opportunities. These stories highlight how awareness, livelihood support and community participation can help women overcome difficult circumstances and move towards greater confidence and independence.

SHYAMA
From Crisis to Self-Reliance

After her husband lost his job during the pandemic, Shyama's family struggled to manage household expenses and her daughter's education. Through community support, she learned about healthcare, financial awareness and self-reliance. She later learned sewing and received support to start her own tailoring work. With regular orders and the ability to earn from home, Shyama regained confidence and began supporting her family while also helping other women in her community.

YASHODA
Turning Skills into a Business

Yashoda's family faced financial difficulties after her husband lost his job during the lockdown. Determined to create a better future, she joined a women-focused entrepreneurship training programme and learned how to develop her own livelihood. She later brought together other women facing similar challenges and started a small handmade-products business. Today, she continues to grow the initiative while encouraging other women to become financially independent.

ISHWATI
Growing Together

Ishwati was a daily-wage worker supporting a family of six and often struggled to make ends meet. She began with vegetable cultivation in her backyard, creating an additional source of income while also providing nutritious food for her family. Gradually, she brought other women from her community together and formed a self-help group around vegetable cultivation. The initiative helped families earn, become more resilient and build greater confidence through collective effort.
